IIGS-RESEARCH

Geography is a discipline that empowers research to be holistic. Geography helps us to understand and deploy the power of the myriad interconnections among the natural and cultural environments that humans occupy and share with other sentient beings. The discipline of Geography also offers powerful tools with which research can be made more integrative, imaginative, and powerful.

Research at the IIGS has thus far included areas such as spaces and sexualities, religions and belief systems, and urban documentation. Research areas that we hope to embark upon include geographic data, GIS, and field methods.

Research scholars are invited to take advantage of our Geography Residency Program. A comfortable living and working space with easy access to most major urban amenities and to broadband services. This facility will be especially useful for graduate students and researchers wishing to engage in research while stationed in Bangalore.
